Free Clinic Phun Run 5K

Every year, CSHP-UCSD organizes Phun Run, a 5K fundraiser, to benefit the UC San Diego Student-Run Free Clinics. This spring marked the 11th annual Free Clinic Phun Run. The event took place on April 2, 2016 and garnered over 300 participants, including local community members, students, faculty and staff of the UC San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy. This event brings community members together to support the free clinics, which allow students to provide free high quality health care to San Diego’s underserved and homeless populations. This serves as an important training ground for our future healthcare providers. The clinics survive off of the generous support of the community, and this year we were able to raise almost $11,000 to benefit the pharmacy operations portion of the free clinics. I would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s event and extend a huge thank you to all of our sponsors and donors. The free clinics are truly a wonderful cause and make a difference in thousands of lives every year and we couldn’t have done it without your support. We hope that next year’s event will be an even greater success. I thank you all and hope to see you all again next year!
